Defamation

If you belive that some one has made an allegation against your reputation which is untrue, you may obtain legal redress. that allegation may be by;

1. Oral statement (Slander)

2. Publication, by way of a libel in print or the internet. Any publication which causes a finacial loss may also be a malicious falsehood.

You may also wish to prevent a publication if you know in advance that a libel is about to be published. You may be able to prevent something from being published if its true if it is also an invasion of your privacy right

You may also want to ensure what you're about to publish does not run the risk of being defamatory.

Defamation law is specialised, however, our network of quality assured defamation solicitors can advise you on every aspect of this area of law.

A Conditional Fee Arrangement (or 'no win no fee') may also be offered to you as legal aid is not available for defamation cases.

You'll want to know whether words are defamatory, what damages are available as well as any other type of relief. If you're a defendant, you'll want to know what defence you can put forward to any claim.
